A typical RITE mentor:
Why do we want you?
Your knowledge and expertise is invaluable. Through experience, you will know that running a recruitment business can be a minefield, especially for those new to the game, because there’s a lot more to it than first meets the eye. Any new enterprise must ensure it is delivering an excellent service, correctly pitched for all its clients, and at the same time have a solid infrastructure in place to support the service and allow it to continue to grow. So it’s crucial that our entrepreneurs get as much of the right help from the start as possible.
What’s involved?
Mentoring should be an enjoyable experience for all parties, so we work hard to match our mentors with the right entrepreneur in terms of personality, expertise and preferred geographical areas. Some prefer to be the ‘main’ mentor for one particular client, meeting every month and being the friendly voice at the end of a phone, and others prefer to run one-off coaching sessions for a number of clients on a specific subject.
How much time is involved?
As much or as little as you can give. Flexibility is the key to success – for both clients and mentors. You may meet with the client face to face, or be available on the end of the telephone; you may work closely with them through a particular project or provide a more inclusive input for the duration of the whole RITE Start-Up Service. Whether you can invest half a day a month or a few days, your valuable time will be put to good use!
What’s in it for you?
All out volunteer mentors tell us they gain a great deal out of working with start-ups – primarily a sense of deep satisfaction and a reawakening of learning processes that benefit them and their own businesses.
